Every day at 6:30 AM, Bethesda’s day shelter opens, welcoming the homeless from throughout the community. Day shelter services any member of the homeless community, for people living on the streets, in the woods and abandoned structures and who are in dire need of our basic services.
We recognize the importance of offering a safe place where people are protected from inclement weather – the snow and freezing rain of winter as well as the oppressive heat of summer.
In addition to the services provided through the day shelter, Bethesda’s night shelter services include spiritual growth opportunities (3D: Discussion, Devotion and Dinner) and temporary housing.
Bethesda’s night shelter for homeless individuals serves as an entry point back into the community. Qualified guests benefit from supportive services that we provide.
Guest Intake: Mon-Thur: 9am to 4pm. No intake on weekends.
The Case Management program at Bethesda is customized to meet the individual needs of our guests. They provide homeless individuals with guidance in exploring barriers that hinder their ability to live independently.
We also serve chronically homeless individuals. Chronically homeless are those who have been on the streets or in shelters for at least a year, or who have had multiple episodes of homelessness, and who have a disabling condition, usually mental health or addiction.
Guests of Bethesda Center would be hungry if not for the generosity and kindness of volunteer teams that feed guests a simple meal and share a message of encouragement.
Prepare/serve lunch for 75 or dinner for 100
